They first crossed paths in an Aikido class during the spring semester of 2015. Kameron chose the class at random from a list of “easy A’s,” hoping to avoid more demanding humanities courses. Her reasoning remains a mystery. At the time, they were cordial but distant, exchanging little more than polite acknowledgments.

Conversation came easily, and an invitation to her birthday followed. That night, long after the guests had settled in, they stayed up together washing dishes and talking.

From there, everything clicked. Their friendship grew effortlessly, grounded in a deep sense of recognition. They’d later say it was as if their souls already knew the way. Over time, that friendship softened into devotion, and what began as chance quietly became intention.
